SAFE REMOVAL
Warm Shower First
Why softness matters
Semi‑cured gel wraps are designed to be durable when dry — that’s what gives them their long wear. But when the gel becomes warm and slightly softened, it becomes more flexible. Flexible gel lifts more easily from the nail plate, which means:
- Less pulling
- Less friction
- Less risk of over‑working the nail
- A smoother, safer removal experience
This is especially important for DIYers with sensitivities or anyone protecting their natural nail health.
Why a warm shower helps
A warm shower naturally creates three ideal conditions:
- Heat — warms the gel, making it more pliable
- Steam — gently softens the adhesive layer
- Hydration — helps the wrap loosen at the edges
When the gel is pliable, it releases more easily with minimal effort. This reduces the chance of accidental peeling or forceful removal that can thin the nail plate.
Then the cuticle oil helps the softened adhesive release cleanly from the nail plate, so the wrap lifts away without pulling or scraping.
HOW TO REMOVE SAFELY
1. Prep the gel with warmth
Take a warm shower and let the steam and heat naturally soften the gel. You don’t need to soak your hands - normal showering provides enough warmth to help the wrap loosen without effort.
2. Apply a drop of cuticle oil
Apply on the edges – cuticle, sidewalls and free-edge. Gently massage into the nails and focus on any lifted areas. Manoeuvre the oil under the lifted wrap with the tip of cuticle oil pen.
✅ The oil acts as a slip agent that slides between the wrap and the nail.
✅ Lubricating the interface between the wrap and the natural nail.
✅ Seeps under the lifted edges to reduce friction.
✅ Allows the wrap to glide off instead of being pulled
✅ Protecting the natural nail plate from mechanical stress
3. Allow the oil to penetrate
Let the cuticle oil sit for a few minutes. This gives it time to seep underneath the wrap and release the adhesive without friction or pulling.
4. Gently lift from the cuticle area
Using your wooden cuticle stick, gently slide under the edge of the wrap. If it feels stuck, pause and add more oil. The wrap should lift with zero force — let the oil do the work.
5. Work slowly
Work slowly and let the oil guide the removal. Lift a small section, add more oil so it can travel underneath, then lift again. The wrap should glide off effortlessly — if you feel tugging, pause and re‑oil.
6. Clean nails before finishing
Wash your hands in warm, soapy water to lift away any leftover oil or adhesive residue. This resets the nail plate, restores its natural balance, and prepares it for hydration.
7. Finish with hydrating treatment
Finish with cuticle oil and a light satin buff using our 4‑in‑1. This step restores moisture after removal, smooths the nail surface, and helps maintain a flexible, healthy nail plate ready for your next set.
