TPO FREE

TPOfree and salonsafe our semi-cured gel polish wraps deliver a longlasting finish without the TPO photo initiator.

TPO stands for diphenyl - 2,4,6trimethylbenzoyl phosphine oxide, a photo initiator used in UV/LEDcurable nail products to start the polymerization reaction that cures gel polishes and coatings. It helps gels harden quickly, reduces yellowing, and works well in thicker or sheer formulations.

Safety and regulatory note for customers

The European Union has classified TPO as a reproductive toxicant and moved to restrict its use in certain applications, prompting reformulation and consumer demand for TPOfree products; however, regulatory status and restrictions vary by region. TPO is typically present at low concentrations and is largely consumed during curing, but salons and manufacturers are shifting toward alternatives to reduce occupational and consumer concerns.
